Once again we thank God for another great day in His Presence! It was truly awesome. Several people have contacted me by phone and email to say how much they enjoyed the services. These comments are very encouraging, because it is one thing for us as a Leadership Team to believe we are going in the right direction, it is another thing to hear it from you.
Sunday morning: After another awesome time of worship Pastor John spoke on the subject of Worship. He asked the question, "What kind of worship is God looking for today?" He made the following points:
Our main reason in attending church should be to worship God.
Worship in New Life has been rising in recent weeks, but we still have higher to go.
Worship is not what we do, but is what we are.
Worship is not a lip service, but a heart service.
He finished off by asking "What happens when we worship God? He gave the following answers:
1. It produces life
2. Services come alive
3. Sermons come alive
4. It produces love
Immediately afterwards we opened our hearts to more worship and joined together for communion.
Sunday night seemed like an extension of the morning service. The worship flowed again. Christine said farewell again! And Craig Seawright presented FIST as the Men's Ministry of New Life. Afterwards I spoke on part 2 'Experiencing the Glory of God' making the following points:
Some people are content with just attending church.
Some people are looking to hear from God.
We all need a breakthrough in our lives.
God wants us to be Filled with His Glory; Surrounded by His Glory; Reflect His Glory.
When God turns up there is a sense of awe.
When God turns up the Natural gives way to the Supernatural.
When God turns up conviction grips those who are present (Christians as well as non-Christians).
Men's Ministry: Next Thursday night will see the fresh launch of this ministry under the new name of 'FIST'. Craig Seawright did an excellent presentation of this last night which is an indication regarding the thought and effort that he and the team have put into this. I would encourage all the men to make the effort to get along (although it should not be an effort!!!).
Christine: said her farewell last night. We deeply appreciate her friendship and input to the church. I know she really connected with several people during this visit which has helped to improve the bond between and her and New Life. We wish her well and look forward to her return to us in 2009.
Team Leaders and Teams: Please don't forget our special night this coming Saturday at 7.30 pm. I know it's a Saturday night, but it's important you come along. Believe me, you will not miss the cinema or your weekly McDonald's. I might even order a few Big Mac's!
Have a great week. See y'al soon.
Pastor Jack
