Well I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa was good to you (that's if you believe in Santa!) Do you know that Santa is an anagram for Satan? Scary eh!!! No wonder he says "Ho Ho Ho!" Anyway, Santa's not the reason, but Jesus is the reason for the season.
Last Sunday of 2008. We only had one service on Sunday morning. There was an excellent turn out and the service was so good. We had a bit of everything that included an awesome time of worship, fun and laughter, interviews with kids and toys and another good message from God's Word entitled "Seeking to be Filled with the Holy Spirit". The basic point of the message was to show that it is not possible to live the life of the Spirit if we are not filled with the Holy Spirit.
New Year's Eve: This Wednesday night from 11 pm - 12 midnight. Plan to join us for a time of worship and testimonies. Why not come along prepared to share something - a testimony or a word of encouragement (5 minutes max for each person!).
Riddle/Question: The answer to last week's question is "Because lots of people are ringing them!"
This Week's Question: If a peacock belonging to 'Farmer A' laid an egg in a field belonging to 'Farmer B' who would own the egg?
This week's Bible verse: Proverbs 4:1, 2: Listen, my sons (and daughters), to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.
Jack's pat in the back: This week's pat in the back goes to Lynn Taylor who has gone through some stuff, as we all do, and although she had let it get to her she has bounced back and has finished the year much stronger and with a smile on her face.
Enjoy the last few days of 2008. Hope to see you soon.
Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.
Pastor Jack
