Howdy pardners!

Well greetings all the way from the USA. I heard y'al had a great time at church yesterday. I heard church was packed; the meetings were great, and that everyone who took part contributed really well. A spy in the camp wrote to me and said, "You would have been so thrilled at today's services. Fantastic crowd, fantastic worship, fantastic preaching and best of all, we were all home tucked up in bed for 8.00pm...LOL..." However, I have my doubts about the last part! Kathleen and I got watching some of the Sunday morning service live on the internet, and what we saw was good. Well done, and a huge thanks to everyone who took part and to everyone for getting out and helping to make the day such a special one.

Don't forget this coming Sunday Mike Clinton will be at the church. His pastor, Kelly Williams will be speaking at both services. You are in for another amazing day. You can also help to make the day special by getting along and by participating in the praise and worship and anything else that God might want to do.

Kathleen and I have had a great time thus far. Plenty of time to relax and visit some places of interest. We went to Graceland, the home and burial place of Elvis Presley. Not that we were ever Elvis fans! But it was worth visiting. However, I personally found the whole experience somewhat depressing. To see his home filled with all of the memorabilia (and there was absolutely loads of it!), gold records and albums; suits he wore on stage etc etc etc. It was all just stuff, left by a man who seemingly had so much, yet had so little, and who died and left it all behind at the age of 42.

However, getting back to better things! The church we were at yesterday morning was amazing. It reminded us so much of home! In fact, although he did not speak for us, the Pastor John Wilbanks visited New Life a few years ago with our good friend and preacher Andrew Willis in 2005. It was at that time John was starting up the church. As he introduced me he announced that he was so inspired by New Life that he adopted many of our ideas! Believe me, it had the look and feel of New Life! This was such an honour. The best part though is that, after I had finished preaching, 10 people said the prayer of salvation and committed their lives to Christ. Among them were 3 men, 2 women and 5 young people. This surely has made the visit worth while, but praise God there is more to come. Surely this is part of our stated vision, "To be a God-influence to our city and beyond".

This is what the pastor wrote on my facebook: "Hey Jack, what a great day today. Your message was awesome and we where so blessed to have you and Kathy with us at Love and Truth Church, Corinth.  God Bless, Cannot wait for you to come back and preach for us."

After the morning service we drove from Corinth, Mississippi, to Hartselle, Alabama where we met with a couple of great friends, Mike & Faith Clardy and some of their family members who had been to Belfast. We also had a great time with some of their friends. We stayed overnight and left for Memphis the following morning after going out for a typical southern breakfast. On the way out to breakfast we were confronted with the sight of almost 30 trees that had been totally uprooted and blown over at the bottom of the street. This happened during the night as a tornado ripped through the area, but we slept through it!

Have a great Easter Week.

Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.

Pastor Jack
