Update on Meeting

I thought it appropriate to provide you all with an update on the meeting with Jeffrey Donaldson.

 

The meeting was quite friendly, warm and welcoming. We had a good discussion about the New Building including many of the programmes that will benefit from the move. We discussed our application to Peace III and their final rejection of the same. His recommendation is that I appeal the Peace III decision with the guarantee that he and the First Minister Peter Robinson will put their weight behind it.

 

There is still no guarantee that the outcome will be any different. This is therefore something that the Leadership will discuss and make a decision on.

 

It seems to me that we should continue with our plans to move New Life and then endeavour to secure funds for the development of other parts of the building as something separate. This keeps the whole project firmly in our hands without any strings attached.

 

So my encouragement is let's keep on praying, but let's also keep on doing. Let's do whatever we can to raise sufficient funds to enable us to make the move and let's see where it goes beyond that.
