1/2 Way House Drop In

Since the whole talk about the Dream Centre people have gotten fired up about reaching people who have life controlling issues. During the same period it has become apparent that several people, even Christians within New Life, are struggling with hang ups and habits.

Why 1/2 Way House Drop In? Because there is a major GAP between where people are at and where they need to be in terms a structured programme or a rehab facility. The Drop In will be informal, although there will be some organised activities and will have the flexibility to develop in the coming weeks. James Scott will be taking full responsibility for this, although he will be receiving support from Jim Rea, who is retiring from the Methodist Church this weekend and wants to be involved with the Drop In as this is an area of interest and expertise.

Others who have offered to provide support and to encourage people to attend are John Edwards (who I think we all know), Robin McKenzie (who's been coming to New Life for the past 3 months and runs a programme called Celebrate Recovery), and Lee McClelland (Teen Challenge).

For those interested in attending and in volunteering as helpers, we are arranging a first meeting next Monday morning at 10 am in City LIFE Centre. Please keep in mind that this might be just the thing that YOU need. Do not think this is just for others, as this might just be for you. Do not come along with the attitude that you are going to fix everyone else's problems, but come believing that this will help you fix your problems, while at the same time you ARE helping others.

So plan to join with me and James on Monday morning at 10 am, and we will take it from there. If there are others you know who would benefit from this, please let them know. It would help if we knew who was planning on coming along, so send me an email to let me know if you will be there.

Thanks.

Jack
