Press Release: A Call to Vigil

There will be no prayer meeting tomorrow night. The following explains why:
Ministers belonging to the Shankill Ministry Fellowship are calling on local church leaders and church members to join with them in act of solidarity with the Shankill community at the Thursday night vigil at 8 pm on the Shankill Road where Bobby Moffett was gunned down. Many people have spontaeniously turned up each night since last Sunday and have quietly observed a vigil in support of the Moffett family and as an expression of their disgust at the murder of another Shankill Road man.

The vigil will not be taken over by the church, but church leaders and members will be asked to stand silently and prayerfully and will offer to conclude the vigil with a prayer. We commend those who have maintained a peaceful and dignified vigil and ask for the same on Thursday night, the last night before the funeral of Bobby Moffett.

Rev. Jim Rea (Chairman of the Shankill Ministry Fellowship)
