Wow, wow, wow! That's how many people felt about church today. What a run in as we began with a modern and totally amazing version of "The King", "do you know him?" Then, without any introduction, Marc Eckel, Splat Experience, stepped up and did his first presentation. People's eyes were glued on the canvas or on the screen as the blank canvas slowly revealed the portrait of the agonising Jesus.
After this I brought a message promoting the idea of Intelligent Design and Creationism as opposed to Evolution and atheistic science. I used the completed portrait to help make the point of design and application, showing that the Bible explains the beginning of creation and of life, and that as the Bible speaks of the beginning of the world, as we know it, it also speaks of the end of the world as we know it. Afterwards one man came up to me and told me he had prayed with me at the end of the message and had given his life to Christ. I spent some time speaking with him and encouraging him. This was his first time at New Life. He had been invited by Johnny Simms. It was also great see Johan, the Street Musician, at church today.
After the message we then Dedicated baby Monica Anna Lewis.
Marc Eckel stepped up again and did his fourth and final presentation of the weekend, which turned out to be an image of the crucified Christ. The people were mesmerised and very moved by these presentations. We then concluded as the worship team led us in an amazing song, "Yahweh". Marc and Juli have deeply appreciated their time with us. They were deeply moved by the atmosphere at church and have also expressed appreciation for all the love and attention they have received from New Life from the day and hour they arrived. I want to add my words of appreciation to everyone who have done anything to make them feel welcome; those who have spent time with them and those who have provided etc for them.
As announced this morning, there will be no Prayer Meeting on Thursday night. Please understand I have my very good reasons for this.
If I do not see you during the week, I hope to see you next Sunday.
Thanks again to everyone who works hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church.
Have a great week. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.
Pastor Jack
