Subject: GLOW

Just to let you know, last night was a great night. There was over 60 women ther and about 40 werent saved. Aine and Mary gave a short testimony and some girls sat crying.
Alot said they would come out Sunday night to hear Pauline. Les' mum Yvonne and sister Sarah were there they couldnt get over it and said they would come out on Sunday and I had 2 neighbours who said they would be out. There was about 8 Travellers from the Falls who loved it and said they want to come on Sunday too. So an excellent result.

Mattress

If anyone needs a single mattress, good condition, contact Sonya Rea at sonyarea@hotmail.com If no one wants it she will dump it.

Hey Sonya, I'd thought that with all of William's anti-wife jokes he could be doing with the single mattress!

Prayer

Alex Downey has asked we pray for her niece Kathy who is in the ICU very seriously ill. The doctors do not know what the problem is; she thought she had the flu, but is now kept alive by the machine. She is 40 with a family.

Please take a moment and pray for Kathy.

Jack

PRAYER

Wouldn't it be awesome if each of us for just a few moments paused and prayed for the same thing? Well, let's do that today for the following two needs:

1. From Robin McKenzie (Leader of Celebrate Recovery): Jack, I was on a late night call last night with a fellow believer who literally had the rope up ready to end it all:-(.. Praise God he didn't, please get as many praying for him as the more praying the more power I believe will impact his heart\mind!!! I will not publically name him, lets just call him Brother mate.
"The more brigher the light the more intense the heat..."

2. From Jim Weir: Pray for Baby Abigail who was born 9 weeks early and has brusing on her brain and other issues.

Thanks.

Weekly Contact 27 September 2010

Sorry for the delay in getting out this week's Weekly Contact. I've been taken up with the cross!

Stand in the Gap (Ezek. 22:30): Last Sunday's service "Stand in the Gap" was another one of those memorable occasions. It was a joy to see so many come together for worship, fellowship and for the study of God's Word. The worship was special. The video presentation starring Messer's Cartmill; Murph; Mogey and Kippers should receive several Oscars, or least be nominated! Well done guys for not only making us laugh, but for making us think and for challenging us to Stand in the Gap. Thanks to John for his summation, using the wheel showing the hub, the spokes and the outer rim representing the church (the hub), the teams within the church (the spokes) and the community (the rim).

Afterwards I reminded the church and commended it for those times when we as a church stood in the gap on behalf of the community, whether it way during feuds; doing prayer walks or scattering seed etc. I showed how that when challenged to stand in the gap even at times of great risk we were not found wanting. However, while we have responded well to such challenges we need to be careful we do not fall short when it comes to the simpler and more straightforward challenges of what we see as "normal church life", which is represented by the various teams. We were reminded of the greatest gap that has ever existed between God and man because of sin, and how that Christ stepped forward and stood in the gap. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world..."

At the end of the service several people signed up to help and serve in teams that required additional support. We deeply appreciate this response. However, Revolution Youth still needs drivers!!! Please see Youth Pastor Mark Crothers if you can help. Mark and Revolution Youth want to thank everyone who buys tea and coffee on Sundays as it provides welcome funds for their work.

Prayer Ministry Team: On Sunday night I met with the new Prayer Ministry. There are 14 on the Team; Billy Potts is the Team Leader. As of from today this Team will be available to prayer for people whenever required by Pastors Jack and Jonathan and other speakers. You will recognise the members of the Prayer Ministry wearing name badges. They will minister under the direction of pastors and other speakers and as instructed by the Team Leader Billy Potts.

Evangelism Team: On Sunday night, after meeting with the Prayer Ministry Team, I met with the Evangelism Team. We discussed Street Pastors and Adopt a Street. We will make further announcements on these soon.

The new Missionary Director is Margaret McCurley. Please make sure that all Mission Globes are passed onto Margaret whenever requested. Margaret will keep us posted regarding Missionary News and Needs etc. Thanks for doing this Margaret.

Davy John & Maureen Martin, and Mark Wells will be joining Pastor John Legge at ECC/APA as of from this weekend. We wish them well and pray God's blessing on them and on the ministry at APA.

Jarrod Cooper: This coming Saturday 10 am - 12.30 pm and Sunday Morning 11.30 am. Please Support these events.

Jonathan's Ordination: taking place at Hillsborough Elim this coming Saturday at 7.30 pm. Speaker will be John Glass, the Superintendent of the Elim Denomination.

The following is from John Cartmill: Thomas's birthday is coming up in January; he will be 50. (I know he looks younger than me). We are booking the large function room at the Knoaghalodge on Fri 21st Jan 2010. We are inviting all who come to church to come along on the night. We are putting food on, dj, etc and need to know numbers to justify using the large room. This is a SURPRISE and he will know nothing about it. Let me know if you wish to attend please as we need to determine numbers. Contact alrightsonyes@hotmail.com

Thanks again to everyone who works hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church.

Have a great week. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.

SEE YOU AT THE CROSS

I sent the following to my mailing lists: USA; Canada; Australia; New Zealand; UK & Ireland:
Our community is being torn apart by suicide. I buried a mother of 5 last week who had taken her own life. I attended the funeral of 18 year old Michael who hanged himself. His funeral took place at the top end of the street where our church is. At the same time as this funeral was taking place, there was another one at the bottom end of our street of another 18 year old who had also hanged himself. Here were two young men, one from the Protestant community and one from the Catholic community, both 18, both hanged themselves, both unknown to each other, both buried at the same time from the same street (although opposite sides of the dividing wall), and here we are as a church right in the middle.

Our response to these and other suicides is to launch a 7 week "SEE YOU AT THE CROSS" campaign. Here's how it works:

Week 1    Encourage as many as possible to enter in by adding the words "SEE YOU AT THE CROSS" to the end of texts messages; Facebook messages; emails etc etc; Do this for 7 weeks. This has been picking up momentum.

Week 2    Encourage as many churches to come on board to formally add their name to the campaign.
Order Car Stickers; posters; Tee Shirts; Baseball Caps with

Week 3    Put posters around the community on billboards etc and in shops.

Week 4    Put initial ad in newspapers

Week 5    Put main Full Page Ad's in 5 newspapers

Week 6    Put up large cross on site between the gates

Week 7    Meet at the Cross on Saturday 6 November 12 noon
                   30 minute service "There's a Better Way"
Evening Rally at New Life City Church in City LIFE Centre

Please pray for and support this campaign.

If you would like to order a baseball cap or Tee Shirt with our logo in support of this campaign, please let me know. We can get these done here at home and also within the USA.

SEE YOU AT THE CROSS

Those living in Belfast especially, help me over the next few days and few weeks: every time you get the chance tell someone or write the words: "SEE YOU AT THE CROSS".

Put it on your facebook page! Sign off with it when you send text messages or emails. Write it on envelopes you address. Write it on receipts. Just help me to get people thinking of "SEE YOU AT THE CROSS"

We can do stickers for your car window for a couple of pounds.

Thanks.

DANIEL

Many thanks to everyone who made suggestions and to those who offered to open their homes. He has stayed at Geradine's for the past 3 nights. Today, although there were other offers, Eileen picked him up and brought him to Victory Outreach. They have taken him in and will work with him for the next few weeks. Let's pray this is the beginning of a great journey for Daniel.

Thanks again. You're a great bunch of people.

HELP NEEDED

This will not apply to everyone; in fact perhaps only a few, or maybe none at all! So don't worry about it.

The young man Daniel who became a Christian at church yesterday morning is out on the streets. Does anyone know of anywhere or have any suggestions? He has had a drink and drug problem. He said he has not touched either for weeks, but it's hard to tell!

Pray for him.

Weekly Contact 20 September 2010

Sunday at New Life was once again just amazing. It seems to me that every time we come to church with the right spirit we will contribute something positive to the atmosphere and to the service, and that we will also benefit by receiving from what God has prepared through others.

Sunday Morning: Our Worship Time once again prepared us for what was coming afterwards. Our hearts were moved as we listened to the Team Leaders of Celebrate Recovery (CR) share about themselves and about the programme. Thanks to Geoff for opening his heart to us as he shared about the vision of CR and of his personal need of such a programme. Thanks also to Gerradine, Ruth and Mags for giving us an insight into their lives; for sharing about their personal faith in Christ and how CR has been a huge help to them and has enabled them to reach out and help others find freedom, not just through a programme, but through personal faith in Christ.

Robin McKenzie, one of the main leaders of CR, shared more about the beliefs of CR and brought a word that challenged all of our hearts. His message focused on the prophet Isaiah who, in Isaiah 6, went through quite a traumatic experience with the death of King Uzziah (who was Isaiah's uncle and who seemingly raised Isaiah).

Two types of people: Robin showed these are: 1) Those who live in Denial; 2) Those who live in Truth. CR is about encouraging people to come out of denial and to live in truth. It encourages people to understand that if God is not in control, then life is out of control. Isaiah acknowledged that regardless of his circumstances, "God was still on the throne". He confessed his own failures and sinfulness; he confessed his lips were unclean, but in the midst of his circumstances he had a revelation of God on the throne and of God's desire to cleanse him and forgive him.

God did not change the rules for Isaiah, but offered cleansing and forgiveness, but there was a call beyond forgiveness to "go", and to carry out God's will; and to do so with the knowledge that "no weapon forged against you will prosper" (Isa.54.17).

At the end of the message an appeal was made and two people responded by giving their lives to Christ. These were Daniel from Andersonstown and Danielle. Do I hear a shout of PRAISE!!!

Sunday Night: Was the first of our Momentum (replacing FIST). Twenty men turned out for what was an amazing, challenging and emotional night. Gareth showed teaching from Craig Groeshel on "HONOUR". It was AWESOME! He talked about husbands honouring their wives, and wives their husbands. He talked about honouring our parents; those in authority (government), pastors and other leaders. Afterwards we shared how much we honoured each other. We all deeply appreciate the positive affirming comments and also appreciated the humour that caused us to burst into laughter, which help release the emotion that was in the room.

But hey, come on ahead men; there are more than 20 men at New Life! Ladies, come ahead, if they need your permission, please let them come to Momentum. It will do them good; do you good and do the church good.

Prayer Times: Monday 11.45 am; Thursday 7.45 pm; Saturday 10.30 am.

FRIDAY NIGHT: don't forget, this is the last Friday in the month, which means Late Night Prayer from 10 pm - 12 midnight.

Saturday: FUN DAY at 12 noon - 4 pm. Plus Multi Cultural Concert at 7 pm with George Jones and other acts. This will be a great day and a great night. Let others know about it. Send out emails to your friends etc; put it on Facebook; help us promote it.

Thanks again to everyone who works hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church.

Have a great week. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.

Re Another Suicide

The lad who hanged himself was 18.

ANOTHER SUICIDE

Got this from young Andrew Higgins (Andrew comes to New Life from the Falls. He is on our Evangelism Team and was at church yesterday morning and at Momentum last night).

Andrew just called to let me know that a young lad he knows quite well, and who lived around the corner from him, hanged himself last night. He was about 16 or 17. Andrew was quite cut up about this and is concerned it could lead to a chain reaction of suicides among his friends. Let's pray against this and pray for wisdom and revelation to DO SOMETHING.

The Bacon Tree

I love this!

Bacon  Tree

Two Mexicans are stuck in the desert after  crossing into the United States , wandering aimlessly and starving. They  are about to just lie down and wait for death, when all of a sudden Luis  says.........

"Hey Pepe, do you smell what I  smell.  Ees bacon, I theenk."

"Si, Luis,  eet sure smells like bacon. "

With renewed hope  they struggle up the next sand dune, & there, in the distance, is a  tree loaded with bacon.

There's raw bacon,  there's fried bacon, back bacon, double smoked bacon ... every  imaginable kind of cured pork.

"Pepe, Pepe, we  ees saved.  Ees a bacon tree."

"Luis,  maybe ees a meerage?  We ees in the desert don't   forget."

"Pepe, since when deed you ever  hear of  a meerage that smell like bacon...ees no meerage, ees a  bacon tree."

And with that, Luis staggers  towards the tree.  He gets to within 5 metres, Pepe crawling close  behind, when suddenly a machine gun opens up, and Luis drops like a wet  sock.  Mortally wounded, he warns Pepe with his dying  breath,

"Pepe... go back man, you was right,  ees not a bacon tree!"

"Luis, Luis mi amigo...  what ees it? "

"Pepe.. ees not a bacon tree.   Ees

  Ees

  Ees

  Ees

  Ees  a ham bush....."

SO SORRY I know  there is something wrong with me for sending you this.  Just  couldn't help it!

The little voices  made me do it !!! And  I bet you tried to do the accent didn't you  - I know you  did!

Good Day my friend

Don't ask me how I do this, but open the document and you will see that I predicted the date and the time you will open it.

Jarrod Cooper

If you have not already booked to attend the Saturday Morning Seminars with Jarrod Cooper, please do so on Facebook by clicking the link below or reply to this email to let me know you will be attending:

If you are on our New Life Worship Team, you are expected to attend this event. We have been asked about training, this will certainly add to your experience and knowledge regarding worship.

This is open to everyone and will be great for the whole church.

Jarrod Cooper is a great communicator; he's an inspirer who uses speech, song, worship and prophetic ministry. He works in a challenging and humorous way to encourage the Church to reach higher in God. His ministry has taken him throughout the UK, Europe, Africa and America since 1990, speaking at churches, conferences, on television and radio. He is on UCB Channel 586 every Sunday morning.

Jarrod has been involved in producing o...ver twenty albums, including six solo albums, and the song he is probably most known for writing and singing, King of kings, Majesty, is considered to be among the most popular contemporary worship songs. You can watch this on DVD by clicking on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfOOksq7kFI

It would be so helpful if we had an idea of how many we should expect at these events, especially Saturday morning. If you plan to attend and bring friends with you, please let me know by responding ASAP to this email to pastorjack@btinternet.com.

It would also help if you could pass this on to those on your email list. Help us make this a great weekend.

Weekly Contact 12 Sep 2010

Three words describe today: Awesome; Awesome; Awesome!

This might be a bit long, but please please read it as this is such an important message.

We had put a lot of thought, planning, effort and prayer into Twenty10Renew, and it all paid off. Thanks to everyone for helping with the day; for participating and for just being there.

We began the service by praying for some very serious situations and then entered into a great time of worship followed by my presentation on Renewing the Vision. I talked about Samuel calling the people to Gilgal to renew the kingdom there and that this was done is response to Nahash the Ammonite wanting to gouge out the right eye every person in Jabesh Gilead, which was his way of robbing the people of their vision. Nahash literally means serpent, and in the same way the devil wants to rip out our eyes as individuals and as a church in his attempt to rob us of our vision. But just as one man, Saul, was angry enough to do something about Nahash, our Twenty10Renew is our response to the devil's attempt to rob us of our vision. Yes there is anger; anger at the devil and anger at those who have allowed the devil to rob them of their vision. However, there is also a determination that enough of us will not allow this to happen.

On this day we reaffirm our faith in God. On this day we renew the Kingdom of God in New Life City Church. On this day we renew the vision of City LIFE Centre in general and of New Life City Church in particular. This was followed by Craig Groeschel on "How Big is my God" when he talked about vision and strategy and risk taking.

I then introduced Jonathan in his new role as Associate Pastor of New Life City Church. He shared some of the details of our Five Year Strategy, talking about Community, Commitment and Church and how we plan to bring people through a process from community, to commitment and to church. He also talked about our New Convert's mentor programme; our Discipleship Training Course (DTC) and Strive, which is our leadership training course. He then introduced the other new members of our New Life Leadership Team as follows: John Cartmill, Chara Clarke, Anna Waldie, Philip Burns, Mark Crothers (Youth Pastor) and Johnny Prentice (although in India he will stay in touch and when home he will attend the Leadership Meetings).

Gareth then talked about some of the new teams and ministries such as Enthuse, Life Groups, Prayer Ministry Team, Evangelism Team and Celebrate Recovery etc.

Evening Service: Celebrate the Vision. Another great night of worship and teaching. Gareth and three new members of our Leadership Team each presented a 5 minute message as follows;

Gareth spoke on the church being God's blueprint; it is the Bride of Christ, but what are we going to do with it? Some simply date the church for a while and then move on to somewhere else, but God is looking for long term commitment; he is looking for those who will marry into the church and its vision.

Philip spoke on the need to take responsibility, regardless of fears and concerns (like parenthood can be a fearful thing), yet God expects us to step up and take responsibility for our children, but with the knowledge that he is with us. In the same way, God expects us to step up and take our place behind the vision of the church and to do with the knowledge that he is with us.

Chara spoke on the word "Idiotas" which had been used of the disciples and literally means ordinary people. That's what we are; ordinary people, but called by an extraordinary God to do extraordinary things. To become labourers in the harvest field; to commit to vision and to see it fulfilled.

Mark spoke on the fact that Vision is Biblical. Vision is anticipating what will or what may come to pass. Vision is what is seen; it is sight. Sometimes the vision is distant, but the closer we get to God, the nearer we get to vision, and the more we can see. We need to make the vision clear and then wait for it, for it will come to pass.

I then finished off and led us into communion and another time of extended worship, but not without making an appeal for salvation, and praise God for Michael, one of the "Stadium Projects guys" who gave his life to Christ. This was a great way to end the day; in fact, with the week I've had, it was a great way to end the week. Salvation came once again to New Life City Church in City LIFE Centre.

Forgetting those things that are behind and moving forward: I deeply appreciate everything that everyone and anyone has done to get us to where we are today as a church, but it's time to move on and move forward. We now release those who have been part of New Life City Church, but have moved on, and we pray God's abundant blessing upon you. However, from this day, my Weekly Contact will go only to those who are fully committed to the Vision of New Life City Church. I will keep all other email addresses and make contact if and when appropriate. The door, as always, remains open and someday we hope to see you walk back through those open doors. We love you and now release you so that you can move on and move forward, and that we as a church can do likewise. God bless you.

THIS WEEK: Monday night, 6.30 pm, at Belfast Activity Centre for Bar B Q and Team Building exercises. This is free and will be an amazing night. Prayer Times: Monday 11.45 am; Thursday 7.45 pm; Saturday 10.30 am. Next Sunday 11.30 am formal launch of Celebrate Recovery - not to be missed!

Thanks again to everyone who works hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church.

Have a great week. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.

Good News & Not Good News

Mixed feelings as I write:

Kathleen and I called to see David and Danielle tonight. Danielle had given birth to baby Paige on Tuesday, but sadly she passed away this morning. She looked like a little doll in a box, only it was a baby, and the box was a little white coffin. Young David, the father, was weeping inconsolably, but Danielle was doing her best to comfort him. It was as much as we could do to hug and embrace them, but no sooner had we done so, and as our eyes were fixed on the little baby, that the room filled up with friends and family. A silence came over the room. I could hear someone whisper, "I don't know what he's going to do", while another whispered, "I think he's going to pray". It was then I realised they were looking at me and expecting me to do something.

It's at moments like this that words do not, and should not, come easy. However, I did share a few thoughts to help encourage them and then I prayed for David and Danielle and the family, acknowledging that baby Paige was being taken care of by angels in heaven. They obviously appreciated the visit from us and the words of "comfort" and prayer. I will be doing the funeral service at the home on Tuesday morning at 8.45 am and at the crematorium at 10 am.

On a much happier note, Alison McCurley and Jason are expecting their second child. We continue to pray for them

William and Sonya Rea became parents again tonight as Sonya gave birth to baby Emily at 8.50 pm, weighing in at 7.1.

Please continue to pray for David and Danielle and their families; give thanks for Alison's news and continue to pray for her and the baby; and also give thanks for the safe arrival of baby Emily and keep her and Sonya in your prayers as they are both going home to a Newcastle fan!

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit

Have a good weekend.

From a pastor who never changes.

Jack

Please Take Note

Don't forget, this coming Sunday at 11.30 am we are turning our Sunday morning service into Twenty10Renew, based on 1 Samuel 11:14 (KJV) Then said Samuel to the people, "Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there". This will be a time of renewing our Vision and commitment to it etc. On Sunday, and over the next few weeks, we will also be launching new ministry teams and re-launching existing teams.

This will be an opportunity for us as individuals and as a church to step forward by forgetting those things that are behind, and by embracing what God has placed before us; by releasing those who have gone from us, as in love we pray God's abundant blessing upon them, and by reaching out to embrace each other and to embrace those whom God has called us to reach; and by not only praying for our city, but by becoming visible witnesses of Christ to our community, our city and beyond.

Last night, as several of us had gathered to pray into this, the Lord spoke to my heart and I shared the following with the group: "I believe the Lord is saying to us that he has seen our walk of obedience and faithfulness; we have lifted up the cross; we have walked around the streets; and have walked through the streets during some very dark days, and the Lord has acknowledged this, but now it is time to claim the streets by being on the streets and at people's homes and to do so as true representatives of Christ and as carriers of his love".

As I finished sharing this, the Lord showed me a small wooden cross (about 3 inches high), and I felt God challenge me to give a small wooden cross to every household within a 5 mile radius of our church. I do not quite know how many houses that is, but I am committed to seeing this accomplished, however long it takes.

Blessings.

Jack

Prayer Update

PRAYER

Rebekah Kirk has sent an email and asked for prayer for her family, especially her cousin David and his girl friend Danielle who was due in two weeks, but sadly lost their child on Tuesday.

Pray also for the family of David Proctor who took his own life. He worked in Sammy's butcher's; he use to frequent the old Stadium; several people in New Life knew him; he was about 38 years old, lived with a partner and had two sons.

Thanks.

The following was posted in Spud's facebook. I told him I would pass it on and ask the people of New Life to pray for little Jude.
My 4 month old nephew is in hospital tonight getting prepped for major heart surgery tomorrow morning first thing. He's called Jude Thompson and he's a legend - hard to believe that anything is wrong just by looking at him. Pray for a miracle by mans hands and Gods hands as the surgeons operate. Pray that God will comfort his mum and dad at this difficult time also. Psalm 39:7 'My HOPE is in YOU'

Weekly Contact 5 September 2010

Wow! Who would have thought we would see such a sight in what use to be James E Ball warehouse! The sight of 14 people being baptised was just amazing. Another great service, and another great witness for Christ. The pool was excellent. I could have went for a swim in it afterwards. Thanks to Carryduff Elim for lending us the pool heaters. They worked a treat.

Everyone did really well. We trust and pray this is just another step, although a big one, in your growth and development as a follower of Christ. Let's go on together and take hold of every promise spoken over every person being baptised, and lets together lay hold of the very purpose for which God has brought us to this place.

The message I brought was a simple explanation of Baptism, which focused on the calling and the ministry of John the Baptist, with Bible readings from Matthew 3 and Romans 6. John was the first person we read of who baptised believers, but he was also known for his devotion and surrender to Jesus Christ. Why? Because he knew who Jesus was; the Messiah; the Son of God. His was the lone voice calling people to repent of sin and to follow Christ. He lived a simple life, not a lavish life, but a simple life; not a life of exploitation and manipulation, becoming wealthy or gaining position at the expense of others, but rather he had Jesus at the centre of his life as he totally fixed his mind on the unshakable Kingdom of God.

He stood up to those who were corrupt, regardless of who they were or their position in society, whether they were corrupt religious leaders or corrupt political leaders. His message to them was direct: "Regardless of you are, you need to repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand". 2,000 years later, John's message has not changed. God still calls, in fact he commands, all men everywhere to repent.

GLOW. This is on tonight at 7 pm.

Prayer Times: Monday 11.45 am; Thursday 7.45 pm; Saturday 10.30 am.

Next Sunday 11 am: Twenty10Renew. We have put a lot of thought, effort and prayer into this event. We are looking forward to what God is going to do then and in the weeks and months beyond. Please come with an "open heart". God is going to do some amazing things among us and through us. We will not hear about it from others or read about it in emails or in other reports, but we will be part of whatever God does. Hobby Horse Playgroup will be looking after the crèche next Sunday morning.

Next Sunday night 7 pm. Celebrate Vision. This will be a great night of celebration and testimony. Please plan to attend.

Thanks again to everyone who works hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church.

Have a great week. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.

GLOW

Ladies,

Don't forget GLOW tomorrow night at 7 pm.

This is YOUR monthly event ladies. A great opportunity to get away from the kids, especially the BIG MAN ones, and to connect with each other. Make the most of these opportunities by first of all getting along and by getting involved.

Men, this is your opportunity to get them out and have the house to yourself; perhaps even have a few of the lads around! So why not say, "Are you going to GLOW tonight dear?" I am sure she is, but this would be a little extra encouragement.

Tea & Coffee

Mark Crothers asked me to email and let y'al know that tea and coffee is available before the Sunday morning service on a DONATION basis only. This is part of his Fund Raising for Revolution Youth, but also to encourage people to come early and fellowship.

James & Julie Scott

James & Julie: Last night, after the Prayer Meeting (we had revival last night!), Kathleen and I went over to the RVH to spend some time with James and Julie and to formally name the tiny little baby that died in the womb last week at almost 20 weeks. The child was named Faith Bella Rose Scott. Please continue to pray for James and Julie. "Pray one for another" and "Encourage one another", and of course that does not just mean when we are going through some stuff, but that we should be continually praying for and encouraging each other.

Baptism Service Sun 11.30 am. There are now 14 getting baptised. Can I suggest that you come in the clothes you are getting baptised in. This means you will not need to go out and get changed beforehand, but obviously if you leave a change of clothes in the playgroup area (women) and upstairs (men) beforehand!

Eliane McAllister: Still needs help regarding suggestions about a car.

Have a great weekend.

See you Sunday.

Jack

Help Needed

Elaine McAllister's car has broken down and is beyond repair. If it was a horse it would have to get put down.

Many of you know Elaine's situation. She is hoping to move to the Shore Road soon. She really needs transport to get the kids to school. She has managed to borrow a car for the next two weeks, but beyond this! If any of you can think of something or suggest something, please let me know.

Thanks.

Baprism Service

Okay, we now have 13 signed up to be baptised on Sunday.

If you are a Christian, this is your opportunity to step up and step in! If not now, when? It might be a while before we have another one! If your reason for not getting baptised is because you do not think you are good enough, does this mean when you do get baptised it will be because you think you are good enough?

In case you change you mind even on the morning of the Baptism, why not come prepared? For those getting baptised, please bring a large towel and a change of clothes. You can get baptised in jeans/slacks and a top (not see through!). Anyone wearing a Man Utd top will be held under for an additional 2 minutes!

The girls will get changed in the playgroup area (presently being made ready for Hobby Horse) just through the doors to the right of the platform looking at it, while the guys will get changed in the gents upstairs using the fire exit door to the right of the platform.

Please, no showing off! No walking on the water!

We are looking forward to a great service on Sunday morning.

Don't forget ladies, GLOW is on, Sunday night at 7 pm. Kim Kelly will be speaking. Worth getting along for the fellowship and to hear Kim.
