Don't forget, this coming Sunday at 11.30 am we are turning our Sunday morning service into Twenty10Renew, based on 1 Samuel 11:14 (KJV) Then said Samuel to the people, "Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there". This will be a time of renewing our Vision and commitment to it etc. On Sunday, and over the next few weeks, we will also be launching new ministry teams and re-launching existing teams.
This will be an opportunity for us as individuals and as a church to step forward by forgetting those things that are behind, and by embracing what God has placed before us; by releasing those who have gone from us, as in love we pray God's abundant blessing upon them, and by reaching out to embrace each other and to embrace those whom God has called us to reach; and by not only praying for our city, but by becoming visible witnesses of Christ to our community, our city and beyond.
Last night, as several of us had gathered to pray into this, the Lord spoke to my heart and I shared the following with the group: "I believe the Lord is saying to us that he has seen our walk of obedience and faithfulness; we have lifted up the cross; we have walked around the streets; and have walked through the streets during some very dark days, and the Lord has acknowledged this, but now it is time to claim the streets by being on the streets and at people's homes and to do so as true representatives of Christ and as carriers of his love".
As I finished sharing this, the Lord showed me a small wooden cross (about 3 inches high), and I felt God challenge me to give a small wooden cross to every household within a 5 mile radius of our church. I do not quite know how many houses that is, but I am committed to seeing this accomplished, however long it takes.
Blessings.
Jack
