Okay, I know it's late, but as it's the first Weekly Contact in 2011 it's worth waiting on!
I hope you've had a good start to the New Year. If you have, don't be fooled, there are storms ahead! If you have not, don't fret, there are better days ahead! Either way, we are all in it together, and the Christ we serve is right there with us.
"What's on your radar for 2011?" was my first message to the church for this New Year. The response I got on the day was truly awesome, as were the messages afterwards. Perhaps the greatest complement was to see several people put on their Facebooks "2011, the only thing on my radar is God's Kingdom and His Righteousness".
As we have begun this year together, let's go through it together, and let's finish it together. There will be mountains to climb, valleys to go through and storms to ride. So what's new?
ENTHUSE was launched on Saturday 1st January. The ENTHUSE Worship Band, made up with singers and musicians from New Life and others churches, was truly amazing. Mitch was his usual self as he brought a great word to challenge and inspire us, and Chip Kendall and his CK Band were totally awesome. All round, it was a great night. You might have missed it, but plan not to miss the next ENTHUSE, which will be the first Saturday of every month. This is not just a Youth Event; this is an alternative Worship Event for everyone. Let's see this event grow in the coming months.
GLOW had a great start to the New Year last Sunday night; MoMENtum is having its first meeting this coming Sunday night. I can only encourage the women to support GLOW and the men to support MoMENtum.
Prayer Meeting is on this Thursday night at 7.45 pm. Why not come along and spend an hour with us?
Celebrate Recovery meets on Thursday night at 7.30 pm. This is open to everyone and anyone who needs encouragement and help through the battles and the struggles of life.
Thanks again to everyone who stood faithfully with us throughout 2010 and who continues to work hard for the development and advancement of New Life City Church. We deeply appreciate your efforts whether it's making teas and coffees or providing food; cleaning the church; looking after children in the crèche or at JC's; doing the sound and the lights etc etc. Whatever you do is deeply appreciated.
Keep praying for and encouraging each other. Stay focused; stay strong; and keep being a God-influence.
Pastor Jack
