Kathleen and I got out of Seattle to Newark, New Jersey (just next to New York), but our flight to Belfast is cancelled. We have been booked on a flight tomorrow, but no guarantee it will leave. I wrote to friends across the US and was overwhelmed with offers of support. This was my latest email to them:
Thanks to everyone for your help. We had so many offers it became somewhat embarrassing!
We are being picked by a pastor (friend of a friend) who is 45 minutes from Newark Airport. He will also leave us back to the airport. We will stay with him for a day or two, but hopefully get out tomorrow.

PS. Not sure exactly when we'll get back. We can only take it a day at a time. If our flight does not go tomorrow we need to keep rebooking. It could be as long as 10 days, and even then we are not sure!

I got to watch Liverpool beat West Ham here in the Presidents Lounge at the airport!
