Good News & Not Good News

Mixed feelings as I write:

Kathleen and I called to see David and Danielle tonight. Danielle had given birth to baby Paige on Tuesday, but sadly she passed away this morning. She looked like a little doll in a box, only it was a baby, and the box was a little white coffin. Young David, the father, was weeping inconsolably, but Danielle was doing her best to comfort him. It was as much as we could do to hug and embrace them, but no sooner had we done so, and as our eyes were fixed on the little baby, that the room filled up with friends and family. A silence came over the room. I could hear someone whisper, "I don't know what he's going to do", while another whispered, "I think he's going to pray". It was then I realised they were looking at me and expecting me to do something.

It's at moments like this that words do not, and should not, come easy. However, I did share a few thoughts to help encourage them and then I prayed for David and Danielle and the family, acknowledging that baby Paige was being taken care of by angels in heaven. They obviously appreciated the visit from us and the words of "comfort" and prayer. I will be doing the funeral service at the home on Tuesday morning at 8.45 am and at the crematorium at 10 am.

On a much happier note, Alison McCurley and Jason are expecting their second child. We continue to pray for them

William and Sonya Rea became parents again tonight as Sonya gave birth to baby Emily at 8.50 pm, weighing in at 7.1.

Please continue to pray for David and Danielle and their families; give thanks for Alison's news and continue to pray for her and the baby; and also give thanks for the safe arrival of baby Emily and keep her and Sonya in your prayers as they are both going home to a Newcastle fan!

Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit

Have a good weekend.
